वैसे तो देशमे बहुत सारे पेड़ है जो की किसान भाई अपने खेतोंमे लगाते है, मगर जो पूरी तरह से कमर्शियल हो वैसे पेड़ गिनती मे बहुत ही कम है, यहा जिस पेड़ की बात कर रहे है उसका नाम Mahogany है, जिसके बारे मे इस ब्लोग मे हम आप सभी किसान भाईयो को अवगत कराना चाहते है।

Common name: Mahogany
Family: Meliaceae
English name: Mahogany
Country of origin: South America and Maxico
(Naturalised in Phylippines, Singapore and Hawaii)

4 to 10 inches length with green colour

Fruits are in shape of Pear, colour is light blue or gray and full with capsule shape beans

Height is different in different species and depend on age and types of soil.

भारत मे अभी महोगनी के फायदे को लेकर लोगो मे ज्यादा जानकारी का अभाव होने के करण महोगनी की demand ज्यादा नही है, लेकिन मौजूदा बाज़ार की लगुतम किमत 2000rs per cubic feet चल रही है, जो की कम ज्यादा हो सकती है, ये किमत demand और जात के उपर निर्भर है।
Earning
1 acre मे कम से कम 500 पेड़ लगा सकते है, दो पौधों के बीच लगुतम 6-7 फीट की दूरी रखनी चाहिये, ये अच्छा होगा की 10×10 से अधिक की दूरी रखी जाय, जिससे पेड़ जल्दी से बड़े हो जाय, और कम समय मे काटने लायक हो जाय ।
10 से 15 साल मे जब पेड़ काटने लायक हो जाते है तब 6 से 8 cubic feet लकडी निकलती है, 1 cubic feet का दाम अगर 2000/- rs मिलता है तो 1 एकड़ मे 500 पेड़ ही लगाए है तो 500×2000×6 = 60,00,000/- rs ( ये कम से कम आमदनी है, इससे ज्यादा भी हो सकता है, यहा पर ध्यान मे रहे की पेड़ो के विकास के उपर आमदनी आधारित है।)
* अगर आप आपने पेड़ो को खुद ही काट कर बेचते है, या फिर उसके demand के अनुरुप भाग कर के बेचते है तो उपरोक्त आमदनी मे काफी इजाफा होगा।

Mahogany के पेड़ लगाने का तरीका:
भाग-1
जमीन की तैयारी:
* सूरज की रोशनी सही मात्रा मे हो वैसी जगह की पसंदगी
* ज्यादा छाव वाले इलाके मे इसे ना लगाए
* इस पेड़ को गरम मौसम अनुकूल है, अत: अतिशय की शर्दी महोगनी के पेड़ो को नुकसान पहुचा सकती है।
* जब तापमान 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 degrees Celsius) से नीचे पहुचे तब महोगनी के पेड़ की plantation ना करे और तापमान बढे तब करे।
मिट्टी की जाँच
* महोगनी पेड़ो को well drained sandy soil यानी सही नितार वाली रेतीली जमीन अनुकूल है।
* Heavy clay soil और duplex soil मे इसे ना लगाए।
* ये पेड़ acidic soil मे जी सकता है मगर alkaline soil मे इसे ना लगाए, अगर आप alkaline soil को neutralise करना चाहते है तो उसमे sphagnum peat, ammonium nitrate fertilizer, sulfur coated urea और agriculture sulfur डाले।
* अधिकतर महोगनी वृक्ष नमक स्प्रे के प्रति प्रतिरोधक होते हैं, इसलिए मिट्टी अकसर नमकीन पानी की मिस्ट से भीग जाती है, महोगनी के वृक्षों की जड़ गहरी होती है, इसलिए ध्यान रहे कि आपने जो मिट्टी का इस्तेमाल किया है वह भी गहरी हो।

पेड़ो से किसी भी स्थापन की दूरी
* किसी भी घर या बड़े ढांचे से कम से कम 15 फीट (4.57 मीटर) दूर पेड़ लगायें।यह फुटपाथ, सड़कों और ड्राइववेज़ से भी 8 फीट (2.43 मीटर) दूर होनी चाहिए।
* महोगनी के पेड़ में लंबे छलावट और लम्बी जड़ें होती हैं इसलिए सही जगह बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है।
* इसी प्रकार, महोगनी पेड़ों को कम से कम 15 फीट (4.57 मीटर) के अन्तर पर लगाना बेहतर रहता है जिससे अंतरफसल यानी intermediate crop करने में आसानी होगी।
भाग-2, महोगनी वृक्षारोपण
खड्डे की खुदाई
* फावडे या बेलचे से 20 इंच (50.8 cm) गहरा या जितना पौधे की पॉलिथीन है उतना गहरा गड्ढा खोदें।
* खड्डे की चौड़ाई पौधे की जड़ की लंबाई की तुलना में दो गुना होनी चाहिए।
ऑर्गेनिक खाद को मिलाए
* सबसे अच्छा ये रहेगा की आप गाय के गोबर से बने खाद को जब खड्डे खोदे तभी मिला ले, और अगर कम पानी वाला इलाका है तो चिकनी काली मिट्टी भी मिलाए जिससे पानी का संग्रह बना रहेगा।
* अगर बाद मे भी आप पौधे के आस पास भी खाद डालना चाहते है तो थोडी सी मिट्टी को हटा कर खाद को मिक्स करने के बाद वापस मिट्टी चड़ा दे।
Herbicides का स्प्रे करे
* खड्डे मे herbicide का स्प्रे करे जिससे 2 साल तक पौधे को नुकसान करने वाले किटको से मुक्ति मिले, मगर ये herbicide इस्तेमाल करते वक़्त हमेशा उसके उपर लिखी सूचनाएं अवश्य पढ ले।
पौधे को जमीन मे लगाना
* पौधे को बड़े आराम से उठा कर उसकी पॉलिथीन को फाड कर निकाल दे, और बिना उसकी जड़ो को छेडे खड्डे के बिचोबीच रख दे, याद रहे जड़े जमीन की सिधाई के बाहर नही होनी चाहिये वरना पौधा सुख सकता है।
* खड्डा मिट्टी से भर दे, और थोडा थोडा दबा कर पौधे के आस पास की मिट्टी को level मे कर दे।
* धीरे धीरे पानी दे, और पुरा पौधा और आसपास की जमीन को गिला कर दे।
जरूरी खाद डालना
* पौधे को और growth देने और उसकी स्थापना में मदद करने के लिए, संतुलित उर्वरक लगाने पर विचार करें जिसमें नाइट्रोजन, फॉस्फोरस और पोटेशियम हों।
* NPK संयोजन मे उर्वरकों का लेबल सामान्यतः 10-10-10, 30-30-30 के बराबर या कोई और हो सकता है।प्रति पेड़ उर्वरक की 0.22 से 0.44 lb (100 से 200 ग्राम) लागू करें।फर्टिलाइज़र को पेड़ की परिधि के चारोंओर, मिट्टी की छोटी ढेरी में लगायें।उसे लगाने के गड्ढे में या जमीन की सतह पर न फैलाएं।
* दिये गये खाद परिणामस्वरूप खरपतवार की वृद्धि हो सकती है।ध्यान रखें कि यदि आप पौधे लगाने से पहले उसमें जैविक खाद को मिला कर पौधा लगना नहीं चाहते तो जरूरी नहीं है।
भाग-3
महोगनी के पेड़ों का रख्ररखाव
* समय समय पर पानी देना अति आवश्यक है, पानी उतना दे ताकि जमीन की सतह पर भेज नजर आये।
* बारिस के मौसम मे पानी देने कि जरुरत नही है।
* परंपरागत सिंचाई पद्धती या ड्रिप इरिगेशन सिंचाई कोइ भी पध्धति आप अपना सकते है।
* साल मे तीन बार खाद डालें।
* Pruning या छटाई, पहले दो से आठ साल छटाई करनी चाहिये, इससे पेड़ो की लम्बाई और चौड़ाई पर अंकुश मिलता है, और तेज हवाओ से भी पेड़ो का बचाव होता है।

कीटों पर नज़र रखें
कुछ सामान्य किट हैं जो पेड़ों के स्वास्थ्य और दीर्घायु के लिए समस्या उत्पन्न कर सकते हैं, जब भी आपको ऐसे कीटाणु दिखें, तो उस जगह पर कीटनाशक का उपयोग करें, इनमें सबसे बड़ी समस्याएं प्ररोह वेयरर्स, लॉन्गॉर्न भृंगों, पाउडर पोस्ट बीटल्स, टिप पतंगों, नासिका, पर्ण सुराही, पर्ण सुराही, क्यूबन लीफ बीटल्स, महोगनी वेबवर्म और श्रीलंका के वी. वी.इन कीटों में बोरर वृक्ष के स्वास्थ्य और दीर्घ आयु के लिए अत्यधिक खतरा प्रस्तुत करते हैं, जब बोरर लगे तो कीटनाशकों का प्रयोग करना चाहिए।
अन्य पीड़क पेड़ों को सौंदर्यपरक क्षति पहुंचाते हैं और अक्सर उनमें संरचनात्मक क्षति नहीं होती है, इसके परिणामस्वरूप इनके कीटनाशियों का प्रयोग उतना महत्वपूर्ण नहीं होता जितना इनके कीटों को देखा जाता है।आप पेड़ का इलाज कर सकते हैं या ऐसा नहीं करने के लिए चुन सकते हैं,
एक कीटनाशक का चयन करते समय, खास तौर पर, उस पेस्ट को चुनें जिसे आप मारने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।यह न समझें कि सभी कीटनाशक सभी कीटों पर काम करेंगे।
संक्रमण के लक्षण के लिए पेड़ की निगरानी करें।
हालांकि रोग बहुत कम महोगनी वृक्षों पर आक्रमण करते हैं, वहीं नेक्टिरिया का संक्रमण उस समय हो सकता है जब पेड़ तनाव में हो या घायल हो जाए।
पेड़ की शाखाओं के बीच फैली हुई छाल का पता लगाएं, खासकर जहां यह शाखा तने से मिलती है।
कवक की बीमारी जैसे-जैसे बढ़ती है, मलिनकिरण छोटी क्रीमी रंग से लेकर लाल से लदे हुए केंकर में बदल जाता है जो छाल की सतह पर बढ़ता है, ये उभार लगातार बढ़ते रहेंगे और अंत में आपकी सभी शाखाओं और पेड़ों को नष्ट कर देंगे, संक्रमित लकड़ी को हटाने के लिए एक महोगनी पेड़ को बचाने का सर्वोत्तम तरीका है।आप फंगीसाइड को पेड़ पर भी लगा सकते हैं पर फंगीसाइड हमेशा इस विशेष प्रकार के संक्रमण पर काम नहीं करते।

(1) मुजे पेड़ो को लगाए 10 साल से ज्यादा समय हो गया है, मगर पेड़ मोटे नही हो रहे है।
Answer: इसमे आम तौर पर ये कारण ही हो सकते है,
(a) दो पेड़ो के बीच की दूरी कम रखी है, 10 फीट कम से कम होनी चाहिये,
(b) जमीन मे micronutrients की कमी
(c) पानी की कमी
(d) अच्छी तरह सुर्य प्रकाश ना मिलना
(e) सही जात की पसंदगी ना करना
इसके अलावा किट उपद्रव, या कोई कुदरती आपदा जैसे कारण जो कभी कभी होते है।

* खड्डे की चौड़ाई पौधे की जड़ की लंबाई की तुलना में दो गुना होनी चाहिए।
ऑर्गेनिक खाद को मिलाए
* सबसे अच्छा ये रहेगा की आप गाय के गोबर से बने खाद को जब खड्डे खोदे तभी मिला ले, और अगर कम पानी वाला इलाका है तो चिकनी काली मिट्टी भी मिलाए जिससे पानी का संग्रह बना रहेगा।
* अगर बाद मे भी आप पौधे के आस पास भी खाद डालना चाहते है तो थोडी सी मिट्टी को हटा कर खाद को मिक्स करने के बाद वापस मिट्टी चड़ा दे।
Herbicides का स्प्रे करे
* खड्डे मे herbicide का स्प्रे करे जिससे 2 साल तक पौधे को नुकसान करने वाले किटको से मुक्ति मिले, मगर ये herbicide इस्तेमाल करते वक़्त हमेशा उसके उपर लिखी सूचनाएं अवश्य पढ ले।
पौधे को जमीन मे लगाना
* पौधे को बड़े आराम से उठा कर उसकी पॉलिथीन को फाड कर निकाल दे, और बिना उसकी जड़ो को छेडे खड्डे के बिचोबीच रख दे, याद रहे जड़े जमीन की सिधाई के बाहर नही होनी चाहिये वरना पौधा सुख सकता है।
* खड्डा मिट्टी से भर दे, और थोडा थोडा दबा कर पौधे के आस पास की मिट्टी को level मे कर दे।
* धीरे धीरे पानी दे, और पुरा पौधा और आसपास की जमीन को गिला कर दे।
जरूरी खाद डालना
* पौधे को और growth देने और उसकी स्थापना में मदद करने के लिए, संतुलित उर्वरक लगाने पर विचार करें जिसमें नाइट्रोजन, फॉस्फोरस और पोटेशियम हों।
* NPK संयोजन मे उर्वरकों का लेबल सामान्यतः 10-10-10, 30-30-30 के बराबर या कोई और हो सकता है।प्रति पेड़ उर्वरक की 0.22 से 0.44 lb (100 से 200 ग्राम) लागू करें।फर्टिलाइज़र को पेड़ की परिधि के चारोंओर, मिट्टी की छोटी ढेरी में लगायें।उसे लगाने के गड्ढे में या जमीन की सतह पर न फैलाएं।
* दिये गये खाद परिणामस्वरूप खरपतवार की वृद्धि हो सकती है।ध्यान रखें कि यदि आप पौधे लगाने से पहले उसमें जैविक खाद को मिला कर पौधा लगना नहीं चाहते तो जरूरी नहीं है।
भाग-3
महोगनी के पेड़ों का रख्ररखाव
* समय समय पर पानी देना अति आवश्यक है, पानी उतना दे ताकि जमीन की सतह पर भेज नजर आये।
* बारिस के मौसम मे पानी देने कि जरुरत नही है।
* परंपरागत सिंचाई पद्धती या ड्रिप इरिगेशन सिंचाई कोइ भी पध्धति आप अपना सकते है।
* साल मे तीन बार खाद डालें।
* Pruning या छटाई, पहले दो से आठ साल छटाई करनी चाहिये, इससे पेड़ो की लम्बाई और चौड़ाई पर अंकुश मिलता है, और तेज हवाओ से भी पेड़ो का बचाव होता है।

कुछ सामान्य किट हैं जो पेड़ों के स्वास्थ्य और दीर्घायु के लिए समस्या उत्पन्न कर सकते हैं, जब भी आपको ऐसे कीटाणु दिखें, तो उस जगह पर कीटनाशक का उपयोग करें, इनमें सबसे बड़ी समस्याएं प्ररोह वेयरर्स, लॉन्गॉर्न भृंगों, पाउडर पोस्ट बीटल्स, टिप पतंगों, नासिका, पर्ण सुराही, पर्ण सुराही, क्यूबन लीफ बीटल्स, महोगनी वेबवर्म और श्रीलंका के वी. वी.इन कीटों में बोरर वृक्ष के स्वास्थ्य और दीर्घ आयु के लिए अत्यधिक खतरा प्रस्तुत करते हैं, जब बोरर लगे तो कीटनाशकों का प्रयोग करना चाहिए।
अन्य पीड़क पेड़ों को सौंदर्यपरक क्षति पहुंचाते हैं और अक्सर उनमें संरचनात्मक क्षति नहीं होती है, इसके परिणामस्वरूप इनके कीटनाशियों का प्रयोग उतना महत्वपूर्ण नहीं होता जितना इनके कीटों को देखा जाता है।आप पेड़ का इलाज कर सकते हैं या ऐसा नहीं करने के लिए चुन सकते हैं,
एक कीटनाशक का चयन करते समय, खास तौर पर, उस पेस्ट को चुनें जिसे आप मारने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं।यह न समझें कि सभी कीटनाशक सभी कीटों पर काम करेंगे।
